Welcome to the Canadian Netherlands Business and Professional Association (CNBPA).

The CNBPA has enjoyed a long history as one of the most vibrant and active European business chambers in Toronto. In addition to leading-edge business speakers, we provide a strong networking forum for both Dutch expatriates and Canadian business people with Dutch interests.

Our goals for 2010 are:
(1) continue to build community, membership and our online presence;
(2) host at least 6 diverse networking events;
(3) continue to ensure the CNBPA is self-sustaining through our long-term sponsorship strategy.

We always welcome new corporate and individual members and invite you to get involved through both our business and social events. We also invite you to join our LinkedIn and Facebook groups, and to follow us on Twitter.

We look forward to meeting you at our next event, and thank all the members and the Toronto Dutch business community for their ongoing support of the CNBPA.

Lisa Stam, President

Economic Outlook '09 banner
A collaborative presentation of the Canadian Netherlands Business and Professional Association (CNBPA) and the new Flanders Ontario Business Association (FOBA)

The Economic Outlook of 2010 was a success. 100 people attended the January 18th event organized by the CNBPA and the FOBA (Flanders Ontario Business Association). The joint presentation by Mr. Smets, Director of the National Bank of Belgium and Mr. Brouwer of De Nederlandsche Bank offered critical economic insight to our members and guests. The speakers pointed out that the current recovery is fragile, as it is being sustained by temporary factors while we are still losing jobs. The US especially, with its growing debt, will continue to be vulnerable.

The board of the CNBPA thanks all those who attended and those who made the event possible. It was an excellent opportunity to promote The Netherlands and Belgium as part of the growing union of 27 European nations, with a combined market of more than half a billion people and trade and investment opportunities for Canadians.
