The Company:

Holland Christian Homes (HCH) is a non-profit organization, incorporated in 1969 for the purpose of providing accommodation and care for seniors. Their concern is for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the individual. HCH serves the Christian community. It has, and will continue to have a majority of occupants who are of Dutch descent and of the Reformed Christian faith.

Over the years, the scale of the organization has grown significantly. At our campus in Brampton, Ontario, HCH now accommodates over 800 tenants in 6 apartment towers, and 240 residents in two fully accredited long term care facilities. The HCH team includes over 450 full and part-time staff members.

HCH has a stellar reputation as a leader in the delivery of high-quality, integrated, innovative residential and community services for seniors that address a very wide continuum of care. In collaboration with community partners, the organization has created a unique array of programs to meet the myriad needs of seniors.

Director Human Resources: 

Reporting to the CEO, the Director, Human Resources will serve as an advisor to the senior leadership team regarding HR policies and processes in order to optimize employee engagement and productivity. The Director will be responsible for leading the development of human resource strategy and aligning strategies with HR services, including Organizational Development, Labour Relations and Occupational Health and Safety. The Director will also serve as a trusted advisor and advocate to employees, managers and leaders and provide solutions to complex or critical issues involving the workplace.


Qualifications:

The role of Director, Human Resources requires an inspiring and motivated leader who is committed to excellence. The successful candidate should also possess:

A Bachelor’s Degree (Masters preferred), in Human Resources, Business or related field required.

Significant professional Human Resources experience at a senior level.

Demonstrated leadership, in long-term care, health care, broader public sector, or a similar operationally-complex environment.

A leadership and management style that is visionary, innovative, energetic, empowering and enabling.

Exemplary facilitation, communication and listening skills.

A reputation for openness, integrity and trustworthiness.

An appreciation for the delivery of culturally sensitive care and residential services to seniors.

A comfort level in maintaining the core values and traditions of Holland Christian Homes as a Christian home.
